Ian is a pianist and lives in San Francisco, California, where he actually enjoys the business of juggling a performing career as a soloist and ensemble musician, where he teaches once in a while at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Ian spends time cycling, hiking, and cooking in his kitchen. He is the founder and director of the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, now in its tenth season of bringing musicians from around the world to experience wilderness living on a remote homestead in the mountains of Northern California. Trinity Alps offers concert tours around the west coast for rural communities, schools, and youth programs. Ian is a big fan of Mozart's Piano Concertos, protected bike lanes, and Ottolenghi's cookbooks. 

Our Connection : Ian and I met while we were both attending the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Chamber Music Program from 2008-2010. We played in several ensembles together and enjoyed many a post-concert meal.
